A simple, non-invasive way to brighten your smile.
A simple, non-invasive procedure to brighten and restore your smile.
Tooth whitening is a simple and non-invasive procedure to brighten and restore your smile. We offer three options.
Home whitening
A great option if you want slightly whiter teeth. Customised trays are made for you at the clinic; whitening gel is placed into the fitted tray to wear at home, 30 minutes a day for two weeks.
In-office whitening
For a much whiter smile, Philips Zoom! is the newest, fastest and most effective in-house technology to whiten your teeth - a high-intensity light directed at your teeth for one hour, all done in one single visit. It is the same system seen on Extreme Makeover.
In-office + home whitening
For long-lasting, maximum results, in-office and home whitening are used concurrently - recommended for those with higher expectations who want to achieve maximum whitening results.
Store-bought products may be helpful, but their lower concentrations make them slow and limited, and the results do not last long.
Common questions
Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes. Clinical studies have shown that whitening your teeth with carbamide or hydrogen peroxide under the supervision of a dental professional is safe for teeth and gums.
What are the side effects?
The most common side effect is tooth and gum sensitivity. Your dentist is your best resource to ensure you are a good candidate for whitening and are using the right concentration of whitening formula. We can include mild desensitising agents - potassium nitrate and Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (ACP) - to minimise tooth sensitivity.
How is Zoom different from over-the-counter products?
Over-the-counter whitening products are not customised to your needs. With Philips Zoom, the whitening process is tailored to you by your dentist - custom-fitted trays for at-home treatments, or just the right light intensity and duration in the dentist’s office.
How long will my Zoom results last?
Whitening treatments help to reduce existing stains, but through consumption of coffee, soft drinks or just natural ageing, your teeth may eventually become discoloured again. Maintenance whitening can help combat recurring discolouration.
What causes teeth to discolour?
There are many causes of tooth discolouration. Some of the most common include highly coloured foods and drinks (berries, coffee, tea, red wine). Some medications, ageing, smoking and trauma can also cause discolouration.
How long does it take?
With Philips Zoom, your teeth will be visibly whiter in one day. With Zoom in-office you can achieve up to eight shades whiter in 45 minutes. With our maintenance kit, used as instructed, you can achieve great results in one to two weeks depending on the concentration of the formulation and the wear time you select.
