Common questions
Tooth-coloured fillings
At our practice, we always restore the functionality of your teeth with composite (white) fillings - you will almost never find us placing amalgam (metal) fillings in this present day. Composite fillings have the advantage that they bond to your own tooth, creating a better seal than traditional metal fillings.
Ceramic inlays and onlays
Ceramic inlays and onlays are ideal for cavities that are too large for a filling, but not sufficiently damaged to need a crown. They are custom-designed pieces of porcelain that fit into or onto your tooth, allowing the dentist to conserve more of your tooth structure compared to a crown. Because they are bonded to become part of your tooth, they also strengthen its structure.
